Our brothers and sisters in the IBEW Construction division need our help. The International Union has asked all IBEW members to take action. Below is some information.

The IBEW Apprenticeship program is a top-notch program that has high standards and has trained hundreds of thousands of IBEW members over the past 120+ years. This program is an electrical workers equivalent of college.

Thanks to the tough standards of our apprenticeship program, our members are trained to do the job right the first time and to do it in a timely and safe manner. However these standards are coming under attack. The Department of Labor is currently considering a proposal that would create a system for non-union contractors to create a watered down apprenticeship program.

Our International President Lonnie Stephenson has asked all locals, regardless of division, to help by submitting a short comment to the Department of Labor. Comments can be submitted through  this website so that the Department of Labor knows that we oppose this dangerous change. More details about submitting your comments can be found below.
